United Methodist Historical Society of Arkansas

The United Methodist Historical Society of Arkansas gives people an opportunity to participate in recording and telling the story Arkansas Methodism’s history, hosting an annual banquet each spring. The 2017 Annual Banquet of The United Methodist Historical Society of Arkansas was held on April 8th at Little Rock’s First United Methodist Church, with Joe Guenter presiding.

The guest speaker at the 2017 Banquet was Dr. Josh Williams, Curator at Historic Washington State Park on the topic of “Slaves of Christ – Methodism and Slavery” (the subject of his doctoral dissertation).

The 2016 Annual Banquet of The United Methodist Historical Society of Arkansas was held on April 25th at Little Rock’s First United Methodist Church. The event featured a panel discussion by Earl Carter, Chester Jones, and Ed Matthews.

The 2015 Annual Banquet of The United Methodist Historical Society of Arkansas was held on April 25th at Little Rock’s First United Methodist Church. The guest speaker was Randy Frazier of Wye Mountain.
