COVID-19 Statements from ARUMC Camps
Camp Tanako
Camp Tanako’s Board of Trustees has made the difficult decision to suspend all overnight and day camps for the 2020 summer season. The safety and well being of our campers and their families are our top priority. These unprecedented times call for difficult decisions. We encourage all to follow our social media platforms to stay connected. Keep an eye out for Tanako Tales, a new program reminiscing on the memories of camp. We love you all and look forward to seeing you at Camp Tanako again!
Thanks,
Kayla Hardage, Executive Director
Mount Eagle
Mount Eagle is booking retreats for families at this time. This would be an awesome opportunity for pastors and church staff to get away with their family or a personal retreat. Use this opportunity to come to Mount Eagle, explore Bear Cave, Sunrise Point as the sun is coming up in the early morning, Turkey Cave, walk the Prayer Trail, or take a short trip to float the Buffalo River and come back and spend the rest of your time relaxing and enjoying God’s creation.
We are allowing 3 days in between groups so we can air the building before we clean and disinfect prior to another group arriving. We are also asking groups to hang wet linens to dry as they leave as we will not be in the building for those days. We are following CDC guidelines on cleaning.
Thanks,
Sarge
Camp Tanako, located in Hot Springs on Beautiful Lake Catherine, has been a tradition of the United Methodist Church in Arkansas since 1948. Our Mission here at Camp Tanako is to welcome children, youth, and adults to a place set apart where they can grow in their faith by experiencing God through nature and time spent in community and respond to the call of the Holy Spirit. Whether you come as a guest on a retreat or come for summer camp, this is a place where you release your burdens, find Christ’s Peace, and rest.
