Northwest District Ethnic Minority Scholarship

Purpose

The Ethnic Minority Scholarship exists to support students from ethnic minority backgrounds who are pursuing higher education. Special consideration will be given to applicants attending Philander Smith College and other colleges or universities in Arkansas that are affiliated with The United Methodist Church or share its values of education, leadership, and service.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant must be an ethnic minority student.
• Applicant must be an active participant in a United Methodist Church (UMC).
• Applicant must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited college or university (with preference given to colleges/universities located in Arkansas).
• Applicant must provide two references: one clergy reference and one school reference.
