This summer, Salem United Methodist Church in Conway was once again blessed to partner with the University of Central Arkansas Physical Therapy program during our Special Needs Vacation Bible School.
Each year, UCA students volunteer their time, energy, and compassion to ensure that every child is able to fully participate in VBS. Their presence allows children with varying abilities to experience God’s love in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment while giving parents the confidence to enjoy the week alongside their families.
This partnership is a beautiful example of United Methodist connectionalism in action. The church, the university, volunteers, families, and the community come together, each bringing unique gifts, to create a place where every child belongs.
The students not only provide invaluable support but also gain firsthand experience in serving others with dignity, compassion, and Christ-like love.
We are deeply grateful for the continued partnership of the University of Central Arkansas Physical Therapy program and look forward to many more years of serving together.
“There are different gifts, but the same Spirit … To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:4,7)
