Obituary – Reginald Lee

Reginald Lee passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at his home in Wynne.

Reginald was born in Pumpkin Bend, Arkansas, on Friday, January 9, 1931, to Robert and Beulah Lee. He started working at a young age selling grit papers and working on the family farm. Reginald served in the Korean War with pride and dedication to his country.

He met his beautiful wife Mary on a blind date, and they fell in love and married August 11, 1957. They had three girls Terrie, Gina and Mary Dawn. They were a loving family who played music and sang often having “picking and grinning” with their friends. He was a respected and beloved businessman who built a successful career in retail, including clothing, furniture, and jewelry, and owned Reginald Lee’s Department Store until his retirement at age 86. He was an active member of the community he loved so well and was often known for his laughter and Blue Suede shoes style of singing. Reginald’s act of kindness for friends and neighbors was a simple part of his everyday life. He was eager to help out. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, and the Saline River hunting club. He was also a member of the McElroy United Methodist Church where he led the singing at McElroy UMC for 60 years while his wife Mary played the piano until they retired. In 1976 he and his late friend Ray Matthews started the Wynne Farm Fest to celebrate the centennial and our local farmers. He loved playing pool and, most of all, spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his laughter, his jokes, and his constant smile.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beulah Lee, his brothers Herschel and Sheryl, and sisters, Jesman, Barbara and Irene.

He leaves behind his beautiful wife Mary Evelyn of the home, three daughters, Terrie, Gina and Mary Dawn, six grandkids, seven great-grandkids, who he loved very much, and many extended family and friends.

Reginald chose to be cremated. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10 am at McElroy United Methodist Church to celebrate Reginald’s life and legacy.

The family would appreciate any donations to go to either McElroy United Methodist Church or McElroy Cemetery. Donations may be mailed to Regina Farmer, 773 HWY 350, Wynne, Arkansas 72396.
