The Arkansas Conference United Women in Faith provides scholarships each year to women pursuing educational opportunities in religious studies. These scholarships are made possible through the Osment-Neil Endowment Fund, established in 1972 to support young women attending Scarritt College for Christian Workers. After the college closed, its facilities became the Scarritt Bennett Center. At that point, the scholarship funds were made available to women studying in the religious field at any school
Osment-Neil Scholarship Qualifications
1. Active membership in the United Methodist Church,
2. Preparing for church-related vocation, such as Minister, Deacon, Deaconess, Missionary, Christian Educator or Church and Community Developer,
3. Proof of enrollment in an accredited college or seminary,
4. Evidence of financial need,
5. And an ability to maintain an average grade point.
