On Mother’s Day, Salem United Methodist Church in Benton held a combined worship service that welcomed 22 new members, 10 confirmations, and 15 baptisms.
Rev. Dan Read, senior pastor, shared, “What we experience here at Salem is nothing short of a miracle of the Holy Spirit. At this time when the American church is in decline, we are growing. During a time of uncertainty in our denomination, we have been gifted hope. When so many are asking who we will be as United Methodists, we have an answer for them here at Salem UMC. We are going to be a people marked by the Spirit. We are going to be a people stepping out in faith.”
