Obituary – Phillip Fitzhugh

It is with hearts full of love that we celebrate the life of Phillip HuVaughn Fitzhugh.  Phil entered Heaven’s gates on June 28, 2024, surrounded by family and caregivers at Hospice Comfort Care of Little Rock.  

Phil was born to HuVaughn and Lillian Fitzhugh on September 10, 1948. He was a graduate of Malvern High School and Henderson State University. Phil’s career was spent working in the field of Mental Health.  He retired from the Counseling Clinic in Benton as a case manager in 2001.                                          

Phil was preceded in death by his parents and wife Brenda James Fitzhugh.  He is survived by his wife Rev. Beth Perdue; daughter and son in law Philisia and John Orr; step-sons, Nathan Chaney (Meghan) and Jared Chaney (Ariel); grandchildren Jace Orr, Olivia Orr Reed (Landon), Lilyana Orr, Lyla Chaney, Sophie Chaney, Enoch Chaney, Elise Chaney; and brother Jeff Fitzhugh (Liz).

Service will be Monday, July 1, 2024, 11:00, at Regency Funeral home in Malvern.  Graveside service will follow at Rockport Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 until the time of the service.  

Pallbearers for the service will be Jace Orr, John Orr, Landon Reed, Nathan Chaney, Jared Chaney, and Chris Bailey.    Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men’s Bible Class of First United Methodist Church of Forrest City.
