Nancy Hines, age 80, of Mena, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at her home. She was born on Saturday, January 9, 1943, to Robert and Lorene Holbert in Fort Worth, Texas.
Nancy was an amazing woman with unbelievable faith in God. She attended the Christ Community Fellowship Church with her husband. She was a prayer warrior, always praying for her family and friends.
Nancy was a very spirited woman, who never lost her sense of humor. She was always smiling, and more than that, always made her family smile. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to the Gaithers, playing the piano, riding horses, and cooking her Sunday roast every week for her family. Nancy always made the best dressing at Thanksgiving. She loved Christmas and was very proud of the Christmas village she put out yearly. Talking with God and laughing with her family made her so happy. Nancy also worked in the County Clerk’s Office at the Courthouse for many years.
She was a pastor’s wife and a wonderful mother who always kept a happy home for her children. Her energy and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Roberta Lynch, and Betty Sue Holbert; and grandson, Derek Martin Basehar.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Daryl Hines of Mena; two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Forrest and Sherri Hines of Mena, Michael Eugene Hines of Van Buren; four daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine Diane Basehar of Fort Smith, Darla Kaye and Jimmy Wagner of Mena, Karen Sue and Patrick Thomas of Alexander, Toni Lynn and John McDonald of Greenwood; one sister, Loretta Jean Kathman of Mena; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Christ Community Fellowship Church with Brother Bobby Blasingame officiating. Interment will follow at the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Cherry Hill, Arkansas under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas. Visitation will be general on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Jacob Wagner, Jeremy Wagner, Justin Wagner, Brad Basehar, Zach Walker, Dylan McDonald, Logan McDonald, Shelby Sullivan, and Colton Redfearn.
