Obituary – Dr. Phillip White

Dr. Phillip White, age 75, of Murfreesboro, Ark., passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at his home in Murfreesboro, Arkansas.

He was born March 23, 1948 in Hope the son of the late Wilford Lee White and Maxine Shackelford White. Dr. White was a member of the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

He was a family practice physician who served his community for more than 30 years. During this time, he used his God-given gifts to heal the sick and bring comfort to those in need. Dr. White found great peace and comfort in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, duck hunter, turkey hunter and gardener. He also had a voracious appetite for knowledge. He was constantly reading, from the latest in medical advancement to how to grow the best heirloom tomatoes. He was a fount of information. Dr. White also found great joy in searching for bargains at the local grocery store and scavenging the Lake Greeson shoreline and roadsides for found “treasures”.

\He was a dedicated husband, father and Grandoc who loved his family deeply. Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years Donna White of Murfreesboro, Ark.; one son Anthony White and wife Emily of Nashville, Ark.; one daughter Heather Brinkley and husband Chad of Murfreesboro, Ark.; four grandchildren Jacob Anthony White, Sawyer Garrett White, Ella Claire Brinkley, and Isabel Lorin Brinkley; as well as one great-grandson Stetson Anthony White.
