LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (July 7, 2020) – The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas has graciously granted $43,200 to the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church to fund the Conference’s Church Website Ministry, which will allow the Conference to give website hosting and domain names to local United Methodist Churches in Arkansas at no cost to the church.

“We are excited for this amazing opportunity to further resource the local church with this communications tool,” said Jacob Turner, Web Developer and Communications Liaison for the Conference.

“Thanks to the Methodist Foundation for Arkansas, the Arkansas Conference is not just leading, but innovating in terms of the tools we provide to the local church, so they can focus on communicating effectively in fulfillment of their commitment to make disciples of Jesus Christ, who make disciples equipped and sent to transform lives, communities and the world.”

Churches using this program will have full control over the content and design of the website, and the Conference will provide initial training, technical assistance and maintenance.

Charges will be provided with one website per charge (e.g. a two-point charge will share one website), but they may purchase additional websites from the Conference at-cost.

All websites must have content that is kept reasonably up to date, defined as content that is within three months of having applicability (e.g. a website accessed on March 1 having a February calendar is considered acceptable, but if the website’s most recent content is from Dec. 1, that would be in violation of this policy).

Churches who are interested in this program can contact Jacob Turner at jacob.turner@arumc.org for more information and to get started.
