New Roles in the Arkansas Conference Beginning July 1, 2025

Day Davis has been named the new Communication Specialist for the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Day will lead the charge in shaping and sharing the voice of the Conference with seekers, members, and leaders across Arkansas.

Day will oversee the development and execution of strategic communication plans that align with the mission and ministry of Bishop Laura Merrill and the ARUMC. From press releases and promotions to storytelling and branding, Day will ensure that all communication reflects the vibrant spirit and vision of the Arkansas Conference.

In her seven years with the Arkansas Conference, she has worn many hats in the Center for Communication and received numerous awards from UMAC for her creativity, including a Best in Class first-place award for photography in 2020.

Mary Lewis Dassinger has been named Outreach Ministries Specialist for the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church. In this new role, Mary Lewis will lead the Conference’s efforts to strengthen outreach and community engagement ministry.

At the heart of her work will be the continued growth and implementation of the One More Question Initiative, which encourages churches to connect more deeply with their neighbors and communities through relationship and community development. She will also continue to provide supervisory support for the 200,000 More Reasons Initiative.

Samantha Menley will continue to serve as the 200,000 More Reasons Project Coordinator and will also assume the role of Annual Conference Publications Editor. Samantha will manage the creation and publishing of the PreConference Journal, the Annual Conference Journal, and the Directory.

Roy Lee is now serving as the Interim Volunteers in Mission/Disaster Response Coordinator for the Arkansas Conference. He will continue to work as a liaison between the Global Ministries (UMCOR), the Arkansas Conference, the Districts, and the local churches before, during, and after disaster strikes.  He will coordinate ongoing training for local churches on responding to disasters throughout the year.

Audrea Stephens is the new Administrative Assistant for the Conference Centers and continues to serve in various ways, specifically for the Board of Trustees, and for ARUMC Communication.

Alison Huskey is now serving part-time in the Annual Conference as the Safe Gatherings Administrator under Age-Level Discipleship Ministries. She will be leaning into this new role in helping churches stay organized in keeping volunteers up to date on their Safe Gatherings reporting.
