Grand Avenue UMC in Stuttgart church members, Nelson and Kay White, recently received awards from the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission during the Arkansas State Board of Education Meeting.
Ms. Yvonne Kay White, Stuttgart School District, was awarded with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Lifelong Service to Student Success Award. This award honors a retiring educator or support staff member who has dedicated their career to serving the needs of students, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and positive impact, in the spirit of Dr. King’s lifelong service to others.
Mr. Nelson White, Stuttgart School District, was awarded with the Martin Luther King Legacy of Service to School and Community Award. This award honors a parent or guardian who has shown exceptional dedication to supporting their child’s education and advocating for the needs of students and families within the school community. The recipient exemplifies Dr. King’s ideals of active participation, leadership, and community service, working to create a supportive environment for all children to thrive.
