United Methodist churches partner with City Connections for hunger relief

City Connections Hunger Relief Army, a local grassroots movement that aims to provide hunger relief in central Arkansas, can provide thousands of meals per event through its partnership with local churches, schools, businesses, and more.

In the last month, three Arkansas United Methodist church members and volunteers have been able to package and provide over 20,000 meals for hunger relief in our community.

On February 29, volunteers at Trinity UMC in Little Rock packed over 10,000 meals. In March, First UMC of Maumelle and Highland Valley UMC hosted City Connections packing events, where volunteers packed 5,000 meals at each church. On New Year’s Eve, volunteers at Bryant First UMC packaged 19,836 meals.

To build a strong and vibrant city rooted in generosity and harmony, City Connections is currently partnered with over 300 local businesses, schools, and churches, including St. James UMC, Pulaski Heights UMC, Lakewood UMC, Canvas Community, and First UMC Downtown Little Rock.

City Connections’ goal is to provide tasty & nutritious shelf-stable meals to our neighbors in need in Central Arkansas by serving with a purpose and creating unity and discipleship. Learn more about City Connections and how you can get involved here.
