A farewell from Rev. Edna Morgan

We hope that you will all join us to celebrate the work and ministry of Rev. Edna Morgan, SE and SW District Superintendent, as she will be retiring (again!) June 30, 2024.

Rev. Morgan shared, “My prayer for all of us is that we grow in our discipleship to be more like our Savior, Jesus Christ, during this beautiful Lenten season. Let’s step out into fresh, new waters trusting the Holy Spirit to lead and empower us to build new relationships in our communities, to embrace partnerships with those whom we have not met yet, and to continue to be the inclusive church whom God has called us to be. The best is yet to come, and I’m grateful that I will be around to help make disciples for the transition of the world in our lovely State of Arkansas, just not as your superintendent. Arkansas is my home, and I love it!

Bishop Merrill added, “I am extremely grateful for the work that Rev. Morgan has offered the cabinet and southern districts in the Arkansas Conference. Her kind soul and willingness to always see good is something that will continue to inspire me.”
