
Nancy Sue Griffin, age 82, of Cecil, Arkansas passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was a retired postmaster for the United States Postal Service working at both the Charleston and Cecil Post Offices. Nancy was an elementary teacher in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a Sunday school teacher, secretary for the Cecil Rural Fire Department and a member of the Cecil United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, gardening, traveling, margaritas, watching Jeopardy, and True Crime. Nancy was a news junkie and a Yellow Dog Democrat. She loved her large family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy was born October 22, 1940 in Cecil to Charles Gilbreth and Eunice Milam Andrews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Omar Andrews, C.G. Andrews, and Heartsill Andrews; a daughter-in-law, Jan Lasater, and a great-grandson, Zion McKinney.
Nancy is survived by her husband and best friend of 26 years, Jim Griffin of Cecil; three sons, Byron A. Lasater IV and wife Teresa of Ozark, Arkansas, Blake Lasater and wife Marilou of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Michael Lasater and wife Danielle of Ledyard, Connecticut; two stepsons, Stephen Griffin and wife Erica and Darin Griffin and wife Tina all of Ozark; one daughter, Kristi White and husband Casey of Ozark; 14 grandchildren, Byron V “Quint,” Jessica, Gracie, Brook, Savannah, Ashlee, Haylee, Rylee, Josh, Raven, Paige, Easton, Tayvee and Nash; 8 great grandchildren, a beloved dog Coco Bob, and a murder of crows.
Memorial service followed by visitation will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 W. Commercial in Ozark with Reverend Blake Lasater officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
