Sarah Katherine Meider, 46, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022. She was born on April 24, 1976, in Englewood, Colorado to Wayne and Jill (Galbraith) Meider. She was a 1994 graduate of Roy J. Wasson High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Fort Lewis College in Durango in 1999. Sarah was a reading interventionist at Colorado International Language Academy.
Those who knew Sarah remember her love of animals and appreciation for conservation. She enjoyed the outdoors and all kinds of Colorado adventures. Sarah could play the piano by ear. Her friends recall her wit and humor, compassion and loyalty. Her nieces and nephew will remember countless hours playing games and laughing with her during holiday visits.
Sarah is preceded in death by her grandparents: Philip and Grace (Hilf) Meider and Joseph and Polly (King) Galbraith. She is survived by her parents; her brother David (Stacey) of Long Beach, California, her twin sister Susan (Justin) Ledbetter of Benton, Arkansas; two nieces, Tessa Meider and Sadie Joy Ledbetter, and one nephew, Reid Meider; and many more extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at Cappadona’s Funeral Home. A memorial service is planned for Monday, September 19, 2022, at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Colorado Springs.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the El Paso County Humane Society or the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI).
