Churches Hold Blue Christmas, Longest Night Services For a Difficult Year

Churches Hold Blue Christmas, Longest Night Services For a Difficult Year

In a year like none in recent memory, churches are looking to offer comfort during one of the most difficult years that many of us have ever experienced.

Blue Christmas, also called Longest Night, services will be held by United Methodist Churches all over the Arkansas Conference as a way to offer a shared space for grieving, but also comfort and hope.

Many churches are offering virtual experiences this year, which means the services will be available to a wider audience. No matter where you are this year, you can find a Blue Christmas/Longest Night service that works for you.

We have gathered below a list of all the churches who have contacted us about their Blue Christmas/Longest Night services. More will be added to this list as we get them.

Blue Christmas Services From Around the Conference

Blue Christmas Services From Around the Conference

The holidays aren’t always a happy time for people. Many experience deep sorrow and discomfort during the season that is most often associated with joy.

That’s the reasons why many churches have chosen to offer a Blue Christmas or Longest Night service in addition to their traditional Advent and Christmas celebration services. These services allow those who are dealing with the loss of a loved one, marital problems, financial insecurities or any other issue to feel comfort and reassurance that everything will be OK.
