Organist/Pianist

First United Methodist Church of Beebe is seeking a part-time organist/pianist for our traditional service.  Position begins immediately.

Primary duties include:

• Play organ or piano for 10:30 traditional service.
• Provide liturgically-appropriate preludes, postludes, and offertory selections weekly and communion music once a month.
• Service music (Gloria Patri, Doxology, selected hymns, etc.).
• Accompany Chancel Choir and other occasional special music.
• Play for special services throughout the year, ie, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve.
• Play for choir rehearsal on Wednesday night from7-8 p.m.
• Support other programs in the life of the church that may require music (occasionally).

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience playing for traditional worship services.
• Is comfortable playing both piano and organ in a range of music styles.
• Is able to choose appropriate music to connect with liturgical and seasonal worship themes.
• Works well with others and has clear communication skills.
• Has strong sight-reading abilities, advanced musical skills, is comfortable working with a conductor and collaborating with a choir.
