Camp Tanako

Camp Tanako, located in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is seeking an Executive Director to lead the camp and retreat ministry of the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Since 1948, Camp Tanako has been a sacred place set apart where children, youth, and adults grow in their faith by experiencing God through nature and time spent in community.

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and operational leader of Camp Tanako, Inc., reporting directly to the Board of Trustees. The Board has identified development and fundraising as a central priority for this role. The Executive Director will lead donor cultivation, grant writing, capital campaign efforts, and partnership-building with churches, foundations, and conference partners, while also providing leadership for summer and year-round programming, staff supervision, financial management, facility oversight, and engagement with churches and the wider community. The Executive Director also serves as an ex-officio member of the Board and Secretary to the Board.

The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to the Christian faith, demonstrated experience in nonprofit fundraising or development, at least three years of experience in camp ministry, outdoor education, youth ministry, or nonprofit leadership, and strong skills in communication, financial management, and team leadership. Experience in a United Methodist setting and familiarity with ACA accreditation standards are preferred. This is a full-time, year-round position with private on-site housing and utilities provided.
