Summary
The Minister with Youth and their Families is responsible for the implementation of all Central Youth Ministries objectives, values, and programs, with general oversight of 7-12 ministry areas. These responsibilities include building relationships with students and their families; supervision of adult leaders within the program; and oversight of all related programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide primary leadership in helping develop an excellent staff, team of volunteers and programs that will help students grow in their faith.
- Facilitate a team approach to ministering to students among staff, volunteers, and parents.
- Participate in the NextGen Co-Op to:
- provide vision and leadership direction for family engagements and shared discipleship trajectory.
- Manage social media seasonally / monthly / weekly postings
- Managing weekly communications to participants and grownups
- Meet with NextGen Advisory Council on ministry reporting, planning, and growth.
- Oversight of all program development and implementation;
- Responsible for the direction, planning, and implementation of all on-going youth programs, such as Confirmation, ACCYM conference involvement, at least one night of youth programming, etc.
- Responsible for providing leadership and direction for all Student Ministries retreats and special events.
- Build relationships with students, students’ families, and leaders within the Youth Ministries area.
- Provide supervision, vision, and training for adult volunteers.
- Recruit and equip an excellent team of volunteer leaders and teachers.
- Ensure volunteers are registered with Safe Gatherings Database and are updated within their system.
- Coordinate publicity for various programs and events, and for the overall Student Ministries area, including website information, brochures, etc.
- Steward the Student Ministries budget.
- Attend weekly CUMC Leadership Team meetings.
- Other duties as assigned and necessary
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Minister with Youth and their Families will provide supervision and leadership to interns. This position will also provide leadership to parents and volunteer leaders.
Education and/or Experience
A bachelor’s degree is required. A degree and/or training in Christian Education or a related field is highly desirable. A minimum of four years’ experience working with a student ministry group in either a lay or paid staff capacity is necessary.

Computer Equipment And Software Requirements
- Experience in the use of standard office equipment and technology
- Experience in the use of appropriate general technology (worship, A/V, etc)
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to move freely in and out of different group settings (homes, the church facilities, hospitals, businesses). Must have excellent command of English language and grammar, both verbal and written. Must be able to manually operate and use a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to clearly hear and understand telephone conversations. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The employee will work both in an office environment as well as in public and private venues beyond the church setting. The noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate but may be considered loud at unusual times. A driver’s license is required for travel between church and applicable functions as well as student trips. Exposure to weather during mission trips, student outings, etc.
