In July of 2018, I had the honor and privilege of announcing a radically redesigned and reconstructed Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church website. This website consolidated many Conference websites into one, made it secure and mobile-friendly, and provided far more information than it ever had before. However, in the four and a half years since, web technologies and the ways in which people access websites have changed significantly, and we recognized that it was time for a change – not as drastic of one, but a noticeable one nonetheless. And today in January of 2023, we are just as excited to launch a refreshed ARUMC.org.
Unlike in 2018, everything is where it was before the update. The menu layout is the same, forms and documents are where they previously were, and all of the Conference ministries are represented here. Instead, a lot of the changes you will see are visual – the website has been built from the ground up around the Conference’s brand, and we are placing a greater emphasis on photography and color to showcase the ministries of the Conference and the work of our local churches in making disciples of Jesus Christ. In addition, you will see tweaks across the site that make it more accessible and interactive. In short, we want to make the Conference website not just a source of information, but a witness to the work of United Methodists in Arkansas here and around the world.
