Position summary: The Communications & AV/Technology Coordinator position is responsible for production of internal and external communication through various methods and platforms, prepare multimedia presentations with choir director, assist with in-person and virtual worship audio visual and technology needs, help with ministry event planning and production, perform office administrative duties, i.e. answer phones, greet members and guests, order office supplies, etc.

Hours/Position: Full-time, Salaried
(Sun., 8 am – 12 pm, Mon. – Thurs., 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, and Wed., 5 – 7 pm)

Reports To: Senior Pastor and Business Administrator

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with production of worship services, ministry programs and events
  • Assist program staff to develop and implement communication campaigns
  • Coordinate all aspects of Zoom virtual gatherings
  • Maintain church website design and content
  • Manage incoming office phone calls
  • Greet members and guests that visit the church office
  • Collect information concerning the needs of the congregation and relay to Pastor
  • Maintain church member database
  • Manage HVUMC social media accounts and their content (YouTube, FB, IG, Twitter, etc.)
  • Create and maintain digital sign
  • Oversee church event calendar
  • Assist with volunteer coordinating
  • Print Sunday order of worship bulletin
  • Photograph individuals, groups and events as needed
  • Order supplies as necessary
  • Create and send out a weekly church e-newsletter
  • Coordinate event rentals
  • Develop, distribute, and follow-up news releases to media outlets and publications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Possess proficient writing and grammatical skills
  • Mastery of photography, video, and video editing using appropriate software
  • Ability to set up audio equipment and adjust for balance and equalize for both in-person and live stream services
  • Display familiarity and proficiency using multiple social media platforms
  • Experience using design software and Microsoft Suite
