Works closely with: Executive Minister, paid/volunteer staff
Status: Part or Full Time
Description: Ministry is focused on assisting membership and staff in implementing the ongoing vision of the church and facilitating the Christian Education of all ages

Position Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and assign teachers to all adult Sunday and Wednesday classes
  • Implement the formation of new Sunday School classes as the needs arises
  • Assess and implement special focus groups for spiritual growth as needed
  • Provide curriculum information and resources for Christian Education needs
  • Communicate effectively all activities of the church (newsletter, website, etc.)
  • Recruit/hire child care workers during adult activities and classes
  • Provide resources and coordination of hospitality volunteers
  • Coordinate facility/classroom usage among all groups
  • Oversee the Children’s Ministry and recruit volunteers accordingly

Position Requirements:

  • Attend all staff meetings and other meetings as directed by the Lead Pastor
  • Be available at all worship services to provide leadership wherever needed
  • Provide assistance to adults/youth/children’s areas in immediate facility usage
  • Offer leadership in areas assigned by Lead Pastor (Evangelism, Hospitality, etc.)
  • Financial Accountability on all assigned areas and ability to budget in advance

Position Expectations:

  • Provide accurate information sharing regarding all the ministries of the church
  • Be proactive in addressing areas needing attention in worship and education
  • Work with the Executive Minister in ongoing facility care and attention
  • Provide vision for the future of Piney Grove’s Christian Education and Activities


  • Salary will be compensatory to full/part time position
  • Accumulated time worked may result in compensatory time off
  • Self-time management is the expectation of the SPRC and Lead Pastor
