MFA Shares: Unexpected Generosity

written by Cathy Hall, Office & Hospitality Manager at The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas

Most of our staff at The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas has enjoyed staying at the Doubletree Campbell Centre in Dallas, either as part of a group attending Perkins School of Theology events or for a weekend family getaway.

Following the tornadoes that wiped through Arkansas on March 31, two Doubletree staff members that I’ve worked with over the years sent an email expressing their concerns about the damage, asking if “we” were okay and wanting to know what they could do to assist those impacted. My heart was warmed by their concern, of course, but was especially warmed by their request to help.

I made a call to Ben Crismon at St. James UMC to find out specific needs, and Doubletree has ordered liquid laundry detergent, Clorox wipes, paper towels, and trash bags to be delivered to the church.

More ways to assist areas of Arkansas that were left devastated by tornadoes can be found here.
