You have a long list of painful experiences over the course of your life that have been unexpected, disruptive and far too often crushing. Sadly, they seem to be an inevitable part of life. It can be tempting to blame God for causing them or get mad at God for allowing them or turn away from God because God doesn’t fix them the way you want. But it’s not your job to decide how God should be God and then judge how well God performs. If you think it is, you’re in for a lifetime of excruciating heartache. Rather, it’s your job to seek God more, trust God more and live in God more – every single day. It’s called living by faith. And it’s the only way I know to thrive instead of just trying to survive.
