I’ll be leaving in a little over an hour to travel to Camp Tanako to talk with a group of youth who are attending ‘Confirmation Camp’. I’ve been looking forward to it because I love getting out and about Arkansas and being with the people of God called United Methodists. But I’ve realized that there’s more going on than just looking forward to today. I need today. I need to see how the Holy Spirit is still stirring young people to faith. I need to experience their excitement about following Jesus. I need to be reminded that God is still at work in the world – and the church – making His will just as real on earth as it already is in heaven. I don’t know what the outcome of our time together will be for either them or me. But I know this. I will be different because of the time I spend with them.
