I sat in a room last night with hundreds of youth worshiping and praising God! They had come from all over the state to attend Veritas, a major youth ministry event of the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church. When I brought greetings, I told them they were there for a reason – not their reason, but God’s reason. It might be to meet Jesus for the first time, get reacquainted with him, experience his embrace of grace in a new way, be healed of a broken heart or help someone who needed a spiritual friend. I challenged them to tell themselves multiple times over the weekend, “I’m here for a reason and I can’t wait for God to show me what it is.” What God is doing here at Veritas, God is doing in your life as well. Think what your life could be like if you approached every day with the expectation, “I’m here for a reason and I can’t wait for God to show me what it is!”
