My Sunday devotionals are always prayers. They come easily and, sometimes, even eloquently. They get liked, loved and affirmed.
Yet I’ve come to realize that the very moments when my prayers seem most beautiful are the moments when they actually are most muddled because I’m focussed on my words instead of You. So today my prayer is simple. And it’s not even mine; it’s borrowed from a well-known hymn. But I pray that its words become my heartfelt prayer all day long.
“Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.”
May it be so in the strong name of Jesus.
