I sent everyone home early from our annual Appointive Cabinet retreat yesterday afternoon because of an impending winter storm. Since my GPS indicated it would only take a few minutes longer, I chose an ‘alternate’ route that would take me home the back way through the mountains. I was enjoying the beautiful drive when my GPS suddenly failed and my navigation map showed I was off the road driving through the forest. I had a small moment of panic because I didn’t know where I was or where I was going. Then, as suddenly as it had quit, the GPS started working again. And as I breathed a sigh of relief, I immediately got one of those cherished ‘God Nods’ that reminded me that God gets me through life like GPS gets me somewhere I’ve never been before. Except, unlike GPS, God never fails.
