Last night around 10:00 pm I posted one sentence on Facebook, “I join with Christians around the world in praying for Ukraine in the face of a ruthless invasion. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers!” Many of you have joined me in this prayer as I have joined you in your prayers. As I have continued to watch coverage of the unfolding events, I continue to pray. I pray for God’s miraculous intervention so that this atrocity will cease. I pray for the people of Ukraine who are overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty. I pray for the children who will carry the scars of this invasion for a lifetime. I pray for world leaders that they will respond to this ruthless aggression with courage, determination and strength. I pray for us that we will never say, “Well, you know, it’s not my problem….” Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Lord, in Your mercy, help us to pray. Lord, in Your mercy, may Your will be done on earth as it already is in heaven.
