I asked for prayers yesterday for my wife, Karen, and her medical team as she was hours away from surgery for a total knee replacement. She did well, and now faces a rugged rehab that will result in a new lease on life. It was an awesome experience to share with her the hundreds of responses from people of all ages, political ideologies, theological convictions and locations at a time when too many people spend far too much time crystallizing differences instead of considering our common humanity. It makes me wonder about what amazing things God could do if we prayed for others who are hurting without regard for anything else but the fact that they need healing of some kind.
