This morning I’m looking out my windows at all the trees with bare limbs. While it may seem as if they are doing nothing, that’s far from the case. They’re actually preparing for the spring in a myriad of ways you can’t see, when they will suddenly burst forth gloriously in just a matter of a few days. The same thing is true for you in your relationship with God. There are stretches of time, some short and some long, when it probably seems as if not much is happening. But just because you don’t see it or feel it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. It is. Because God is at work preparing you for a new season that will suddenly burst forth. So if this seems like a dormant season, don’t fret. Rather, give God praise for quietly preparing you for a new season of growth.
