Q&A with Bailey Thomas

Tell me about yourself: Where you’re from, where you live now, where you went to school, your previous jobs, etc.
I was born and raised in Beebe and graduated high school there. I received a Biology degree from Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, AR. After graduating from Williams, I decided to go back to school at Arkansas State University to receive a degree in Accounting. After receiving my degree, I moved back to Beebe and worked for a public accounting firm for six years before entering my position at the Conference.

What attracted you to the Assistant Treasurer position for the Center for Administrative Services?
As an accountant, I was attracted to the Assistant Director position because I knew I would get to do the work I love for people who want to make a difference.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m looking forward to working with an amazing group of people and for an organization that gets to help churches throughout the state.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
When I am not at work, you will most likely find me at the softball fields, where I still like to think I’m as young and invincible as I used to be. If I’m not there, I enjoy spending time hanging out or grilling with my family and friends.

Who is someone that inspires you in your daily life and why?
I am inspired by several people in my life, a couple of them being my parents and my grandmother. I’m inspired by my parents because they have always been there to support, encourage and believe in me. They have always set an example for me in every aspect of my life, I strive to be like them every day. My grandmother has also inspired me to be the best that I can be, she has always shown me what it meant to be a God-fearing, Christian woman. Since I was little, I always wanted to follow in her footsteps. I know she would have been so proud of the person I have become and would be so excited about this new adventure.

Please join us in welcoming Bailey to the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church as the Assistant Treasurer for the Center for Administrative Services. We are so excited to have her on our team!
