We are in a time of turmoil, fear, division, deep pain and uncertainty. Questions – and fears – abound about the future. Not just for our nation, but for you and me and every single human being. It can be so overwhelming that it quickly leads to despair and hopelessness. But remember, in Christ, you are part of a new creation in which the old is being swept away and God is doing new things. These words from the Psalmist are a statement of faith. More importantly, they are a statement of fact. And today may they become your words!

Thank you for responding to me;

    you’ve truly become my salvation!

The stone the masons discarded as flawed

    is now the capstone!

This is God’s work.

    We rub our eyes—we can hardly believe it!

This is the very day God acted—

    let’s celebrate and be festive!

Salvation now, God. Salvation now!

    Oh yes, God—a free and full life!

Psalm 118:21-25 “The Message”
