Tonight will be a very different Christmas Eve as we try to keep each other safe in the midst of a global pandemic. But even though our celebration will be different, the meaning of this Holy Night remains the same: God became one of us to save, redeem and transform us. May this reality expressed in the words of the beloved carol, “Silent Night,” fill you with peace, joy and hope this night and every day.
Silent night, holy night. All is calm, all is bright. ‘Round yon virgin Mother and Child; Holy infant so tender and mild. Sleep in heavenly peace! Sleep in heavenly peace!
Silent night, holy night. Shepherds quake at the sight. Glories stream from heaven afar; Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia. Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born!
Silent night, holy night. Son of God, love’s pure light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face; With the dawn of redeeming grace. Jesus, Lord at Thy birth! Jesus, Lord at Thy birth!
