Waiting can be hard, frustrating and sometimes fuel your anxiety until it burns out of control – especially when there is a great deal at stake. We are now in a time of waiting for the presidential election to be called. And even when it is, we are most likely going to have to wait longer for possible recounts and litigation. Since you can’t do anything about the outcome of the election, you have to choose how you are going to wait. And like most choices you make every day, you can make a choice that draws you closer to God and prepares you to deal with whatever happens when the waiting is over. May you choose to make the words of the psalmist your words in these days of waiting, God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as he says. Everything I need comes from him, so why not? He’s solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, An impregnable castle: I’m set for life. (Psalm 62:1-2 The Message)
