When I was in the fourth grade, my teacher commented on my report card that I needed to be less sarcastic. I have honed snarkiness to a fine art ever since. But the Holy Spirit has been nipping at me recently, reminding me that my words have the power to build up or tear down, and challenging me to use them for good. So I’ve been working on de-snarking my life, although it’s far from an easy task after decades of practice. Not surprisingly, I’ve learned something. I may not be able to change the world, but God wants my words to make a positive difference for every person I encounter every day. And that’s what God wants for you, too.
