Even as the world begins opening back up during the Covid-19 pandemic, there is widespread uncertainty about the future that is sparking fear. While fear is understandable, you can choose to let hope cover your fear. Be clear, however. Hope is not just being optimistic or engaging in wishful thinking or dreaming or pretending that something is going to happen that’s not ever going to happen. Hope resides in God, and God unleashes it in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Want hope? Go to Jesus. Want hope? Let him embrace you. Want hope? Accept his forgiveness and promise of new life that begins right now. Want hope? Trust that nothing that happens in life or death – regardless of what it is – will ever separate you from his love. And when you do, you’ll discover that God’s eternal hope has become your hope.
