Conference Lay Program Coordinator selected to serve on the board of Perkins Theological School for the Laity

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (August 1, 2018) – The Perkins Theological School for the Laity announced today that Cathy Hall has been named to the Perkins Lay Board for a three-year term on the board, from 2019 – 2021.

Hall will serve on the Board beginning with the March 28 – 30, 2019 convened session of the School for the Laity.

The Board’s primary responsibility is to help plan and oversee the Perkins Theological School for the Laity, which takes place annually in the spring on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

The Board will recommend course topics, give advice on the schedule, and serve as a welcoming committee and sounding board for registrants.

The Perkins Theological School for the Laity is a 3-day in-depth study focusing on the Bible, theology, and spirituality. The courses are open to everyone who registers and will feature half-day and full-day courses taught by Perkins School of Theology faculty, as well as guest speakers.

Hall has been with the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church for the past 8 years, working with local church leaders to grow ministry to mission fields across the state. She has been the Lay Program Coordinator for the past 2 years.

Before her work at the Arkansas Conference, Hall worked as an assistant to the office of development and college relations at Hendrix College, director of resource development for Camp Aldersgate, and as a special projects coordinator for Mount Eagle.

Hall is the only Arkansan to be asked to be on the Board for the 2019 – 2021 convened sessions.
