Sometimes you feel faith should exempt from struggles or, at least, make life a whole lot easier! But faith’s not like that. There will be days – even entire seasons of your life – when nothing changes even after you pour out your heart to God. That’s when you need get back to the most basics of basics – trusting that nothing in life or in death ever can separate you from God’s love in Jesus Christ. When you do, you’ll experience the grace God knows you need – in just the right way at just the right time.
My life has been a journey filled with all kinds of experiences. With things I never imagined possible, but they were. With things I prayed never would happen, but they did.
You’ve helped me realize something about this journey. It’s more than just experiences, events and what happens. It’s actually a journey into Your heart.
That’s amazing. But even more amazing is how You help me get there. You love me just as I am with no ifs, ands or buts. You reach out and fill me to overflowing with Your unconditional love. You shape, mold and transform me through Your amazing grace. And You never give up on me.
So, Lord, regardless of where I go and what I do today – help me make sure You’re always my destination.
In Jesus’ name – Amen.
You’ve already experienced ‘It’. You’ll experience ‘It’ again. And, most importantly, you’ll experience ‘It’ today. ‘It may be obvious – or disguised. Significant right away – or only understood after the fact in one of those ‘ah-ha’ moments. Powerful in shaping your life – or simply a gentle reminder of the fullness of God’s love. But, then, what else would you expect from God who loves you so much that Jesus came to forgive, save, heal and fill you with the joy of eternal life?
When life hits you hard, God seems to have forgotten you or evil triumphs, you may start looking for a God who will give you miracle, a reprieve or a word that explains what you’re going through. This is exactly why it’s time to remember this is who God is: a God who cherishes you as a precious child, transforms you into a more loving person and longs for an eternal relationship with you so much that God sent God’s only son to give you what you absolutely need, but can never get on your own.
