Rev. Dr. Michelle Morris to become Lead Equipper for the Center for Vitality

The Center for Vitality is pleased to announce that Rev. Dr. Michelle Morris will be joining the CFV team July 1, 2018 as Lead Equipper for the Center for Vitality.  Michelle is a native of Benton and brings both a robust academic background and varied pastoral experiences to this work.

Michelle will join Rev. Dede Roberts, Director of the Center for Vitality and Cathy Hall, Lay Program Coordinator, in resourcing vital congregations that make disciples of Jesus Christ who make disciples equipped to transform lives, communities and the world.  Her primary responsibilities in this new position will include writing curriculum, leading the Center in creating online platforms for equipping and training events, and helping congregations develop and implement intentional discipleship systems.

In accepting this position, Michelle says, “I am beyond excited to be taking this role as Lead Equipper for the Center for Vitality. I view my role in this position less as a principle teacher and more as a principle learner for the Arkansas Conference, as this position will allow me to learn from some incredibly creative and committed pastors and laity across the Conference. It will then be my responsibility to share that learning across the state as we seek to make vital disciples equipped to share their faith and transform lives, communities, and the world. I could not be more grateful to Bishop Mueller and Director Dede Roberts for this opportunity.”

Rev. Dr. Morris holds both an B.A and M.A. from the University of Arkansas and an M.Div. and Ph.D. from Perkins School of Theology.  She has served churches in Fort Smith, West Memphis and Hurst, TX.  She and her husband Travis Morris have one son, Soren.
