I cannot believe – although sadly I have come to expect it – that we are confronted by yet another massacre of innocents by an individual wielding a weapon of destruction. This time in a church. It is heart breaking, spirit crushing and nothing short of sinful. And contrary to what some pundits are proclaiming, it is time for prayer. Powerful prayer. Life-changing prayer. Prayer for the families and friends of those killed. Prayer for our world in which violence of all kinds is seen by too many as a viable solution. Prayer for the Church of Jesus Christ to overcome our differences and stand together for God’s way. Prayer that each one of us will discern how God is calling us to make a difference. Yes, it is time for prayer that changes things.
