Far more often than not, life is some shade of gray and not simply black or white. But there are moments that demand absolute moral clarity without equivocation. Recent events in Charlottesville have provided such a moment for those of us who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord. We are compelled to clearly proclaim that Neo-Nazis, white supremacists and any other group that spreads hate, venom, racism, superiority and bigotry are embracing evil and must be confronted. We are called to get involved and work for healing, justice and reconciliation. We are charged to share Jesus’ love that brings God’s transformation to individuals, communities and our world.
