You’re not perfect, your family’s not perfect and your church is not perfect. Yet that doesn’t keep you from loving yourself, your family or your church. The United States of America isn’t perfect either. In fact, it’s far from it. But it is our home, has blessed us in innumerable ways and continues to be a shining light in a world filled with darkness. So on this day when we celebrate our nation’s birth, we give thanks to God for those who have worked to make this great experiment in freedom possible, all who have sacrificed so we might experience the blessings we too often take for granted and the millions of citizens who continue to make our nation a beacon of hope. May we repent of our sins, commit ourselves to coming together to solve our problems and truly “be one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.”
