There’s a lot of pain in our world today.
Some of it is close by and some far away. Some of it is personal and some touches those I don’t know. And some of it is easy to see and some is buried deep within the soul.
I confess, Lord, it’s tempting to pretend the pain is not there. Or run away and hide from it. Or just be overwhelmed to the point of helplessness. But I know that’s not good for you, those who are hurting or me.
So fill me with the strength and power of your love. Place me with those I can help. Help me love them in their pain until it stops hurting. And, in the process, allow me the privilege of seeing you like never before.
This is my prayer offered in humility, hope and trust. Not just today. But everyday.
