You may sometimes find yourself saying, “If it’s good, it’s because I’m lucky. If it’s bad, that’s par for the course. And if something messes up, it’s because I’m a mess-up!” The problem with talking to yourself like this is that the more you do it, the more you believe it. And the more you believe it, the more you start anticipating, expecting and assuming the worst.
