Here are the numbers we know. One man who turned a concert venue into a killing field, fifty-nine dead, five-hundred twenty-seven injured, forty-three guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition, millions of children and parents living in fear, and hundreds of millions wondering when we will have the moral courage to address the myriad of factors – including the proliferation of weapons that can be easily converted into automatic military style weapons of death – to stop the epidemic of gun violence. But there’s also one more number that matters. And, ultimately, it’s very personal. How many disciples of Jesus Christ, including those who are gun owners, are willing to step forward and address this spiritual crisis?
