Beneficial Pain

It doesn’t matter whether it’s physical, spiritual, relational, financial or emotional pain. You’ll do almost anything to avoid it. And that makes sense. Except for the fact that the pain that seems so bad can be something that turns out to be beneficial. Trainers know pain is a sign that runners are getting ready to break through to the next level of endurance. Doctors look for pain because it helps them make a diagnosis. Therapists understand pain is often the best incubator for growth. And while God isn’t responsible for pain, God uses pain as a vehicle of grace that enables you to grow, experience healing and become the person God has created you to be. Sure, it’s often excruciatingly difficult and, well, painful. But, in the end, you’ll be able to celebrate because you’ve experienced the miracle of how God can turn pain into an amazing gift.
