40 Days Of Prayer: Friday, January 8, 2016

Most gracious Heavenly Father: Through the ages your love and patience for all of your children have been unending, especially for those who are called by your name and have lost their way.

Now Lord, simply put, we are lost again. Changing times and conflicting values have brought us to a state of indecisiveness and have rendered us immobile, like a ship with no means of propulsion; dead in the water. We are in desperate need of forgiveness, Lord, and we humbly seek your spirit to rekindle our passion for Christ and once again revive our churches, our districts, our conference, and our country.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we confess our sins of complacency and neglect and plead with you to enfold us in your loving arms so that we can again be your people and you will be our God and you will heal our land. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
